The Crosslet 4 is a rare variety of the 1834 Classic Head Half Eagle. All examples are pricey, even with problems.
NGC has accurately called this coin AU Details for cleaning (Cert. No. 6485241-003).
Despite having been cleaned, the coin retains strong details within the AU grade, some luster in the peripheries, and good color. Worth calling attention to are 5 marks in the left obverse field.
Not problem-free, but not $12,000 either, and a pretty decent coin for the price offered.
